Adrenaline - Firefighter
Here is a cool little documentary style video. A former Navy Seal goes through a day at the Fire Academy. This shows reminds me a bit of Dirty Jobs. The video is only half of the show...that sucks. Enjoy!

Station Fire Video
Here is a video of the Station Fire we found on Youtube. The Station Fire was in the Los Angeles mountains near the end of August through the beginning of September. It was the largest wild fire in Los Angeles County history. We could see the giant plume of smoke from our home over 50 miles away, not to mention the smoke and ashes. The plume looked like a volcano had erupted.

Sprinkler's Clubhouse
Check out Sprinkler's Clubhouse from the Chandler Fire Department in Arizona. The clubhouse is currently being remodeled so they only have videos posted for now. Sprinkler is a Fire Safety Clown that looks like he hits the gym pretty hard. Sprinkler and his pal Dusty show you how to be safe around the pool, with helmets, in the kitchen, and so much more. Enjoy!

Fireman's Brew
Check out this line of Fireman Drinks. They have a line of sodas that the kids can enjoy. Flavors include Root Beer, Cream Soda, and Black Cherry soda. Your kids will love the opportunity to drink a fireman soda. Equally important are the beers they have for the older kids. They make a Blonde, Brunette, and a Redhead style beer. If your in the LA or Orange County area check your local store for it and if they don't have ask them to get it.

Firefighter Monopoly
We just found Firefighter Monopoly. It is your standard Monopoly game redesigned with a firefighter theme. You got Flash Over and Back Draft cards, Probie Place and Firefighter Freeway as property cards. Mathew has played Monopoly with the rest of the family and he follows along pretty well. I think this game will take his interest in Monopoly to another level.

Guardian Angel
My sister sent us this picture in an email. This is a beautiful ice sculpture. If you have something you want to share with us send us an email: dave@kidsfirefighter.com
I found a little more info on Flickr about the creator. "The photo was taken by the creator of the sculpture, Darlene Racicot of Timmons, Ontario. The sculpture was made as a dedication to the firefighters and police who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks. It was inspired by a photograph of a firefighter sitting, exhausted as this one does. The photo was digitally altered to show 2 Angels, one leaning on each side, comforting the firefighter.
The sculpture was entered in the South Porcupine Ice Sculpture contest in Feb 2002. It is 10ft tall, 15ft long, and took 250 hours to complete. It won the contest.
In the Fireman's hands is a connector assembly to a self-contained breathing apparatus. It is attached to a backpack of oxygen tanks, and feeds regulated air to the face mask, which is hanging behind his left leg. " http://www.flickr.com/photos/ilively/462911867/

One Last Holiday Parade Video....
This will be the last holiday video until later this year (or next time we find another good one). This is from the Palm Springs Festival of Lights. They had a number of decorated new and classic fire trucks. We did not know about this parade although it has happening for many years now. Palm Springs is not too far away from us maybe we will make the trek next year. Enjoy.

5 Year Old's 911 Call
Mathew's Uncle sent us this news story. This 5 year old called 911 when her dad had an apparent heart attack. She displayed courage and calmness on the phone with the 911 operator. Great Story!

Lego Fire Repsonds to Big Rig Accident
The Lego Fire Department responds to an accident involving a Big Rig. These stop motion videos are pretty neat. I am not sure if Mathew and myself have enough patience to make one of these though. You have to take many photos and then combine them to make these videos. Good work by the dude who made this video.

Happy New Year!
We wanted to Thank you for visiting our blog through out this past year. We appreciate all of the emails we get from the community. We wish you a Happy New Year!
With the Rose Parade tomorrow we were trying to find out if there are any videos of Fire Truck floats on Youtube. Unfortunately, we could not find any. We did find this super cool video of LA Fire Department helicopters loading up with water in a small lake. Enjoy!
